Plug-In

What is a Plug-In?
Plug-Ins make life on the Internet easier for many of us, but we use them without really thinking about what they are.  Plug-ins are small pieces of software that modify the way a browser or other piece of software runs by adding additional functionality.  Adblock Plus, for example, keeps many pop-ups from being annoying on Firefox, and Noscript prevents harmful scripts from damaging your computer.    There are many add-ons with different puproses and they are not limited to web browser software.     So, if you need a piece of software you currently have to do something more, why not check to see if it supports plug-in functionality?
