What are RSS feeds?

They are one of the modern formats having their roots in XML family that helps sharing information in a compact manner. Due to their ability of sharing information in a condensed manner RSS feeds are regularly used to publish updated content. RSS feeds are a great help for regular visitors of the World Wide Web. By the help of RSS feeds, we are able to get the latest from the website which we most frequently visit. This not only saves time that would have been wasted visiting each website on individual basis but also provides privacy by not sharing confidential information with unnecessary websites and being bombarded by news letters. There are a number of sites which offer RSS feeds one example of that is the famous Yahoo News.
